As well as the standard and flexible programmes, chich also run in summer, we offer special summer courses, aimed at teachers who want extra training and young people during their school holidays. |

| DILE Course (Didáctica e Investigación de Lengua Española / 301 |
| Type of student |
> The programme is adapted to the needs of teachers of Spanish as a Second Language. The minimum age requirement is 21 years and the level of Spanish required is advanced or upper-advanced. |

> 20 lessons + 2 round table sessions or debates |

> 2 or 3 weeks |

The courses modular structure allows participants to choose
the dates, course length and contents which interest them most.
> Start 31 July and 7 August 2006
> 4th week: the 1st weeks programme is repeated
> 5th week: the 2nd weeks programme is repeated
The programme can be taught in one-to-one classes on different dates from the ones given. |
| Aims |
> Updating or initial training in language and teaching method skills for those who want to be effective teachers of Spanish as a Second Language.
> DILE hopes that the work started in the Curso de Didáctica e Investigación de Lengua Española will lead to permanent collaboration between participants and the school. Our websites Club DILE is intended to be the ideal place for us to exchange our experiences and ideas. |

> As well as division according to students knowledge of Spanish, we also try to separate by age so that the groups are made up of people with similar characteristics. |

> Developing language skills (listening and reading comprehension, speaking and writing skills) in order to improve the students fluency and Spanish usage. |
| Content |
> Theory and practice of Spanish language grammar structures
> Practice exercises to extend vocabulary and develop grammar usage
> Communication practice: listening comprehension and speaking practice techniques
> Written Spanish: reading comprehension, text analysis and composition
> 1 hour per week compulsory tutorial |
| Teaching method |
> The course focuses on communication and systematically apply task-based learning, giving prime importance to the acquisition of speaking and listening skills.
> The teachers are first and foremost a learning stimulus for our students and put into practice both significative teaching and the inductive method.
> The classroom tasks and activities (practice of grammar structures, roleplays, acting situations, pairwork, presentations, discussions, dialogues
) include functional contents and real-life situations.
> The teaching materials include up-to-date written texts and audiovisual scripts.
> The compulsory tutorials allow us to follow each pupils development and are fundamental for resolving individual language problems as well as for evaluating the pupils progress. |
